Lough Foyle Yacht Club

The annual race to the Peace Bridge took place today. Brothers Gareth and Richard G managed to win it with a just less than a minute to spare from last years winners Ken and Davy L. Congratulations to the G bros in what is always a very challenging race.

Kevin T would have completed except the Mast on his laser broke just near Gillilands slipway causing his retirement. Yes, it got pretty windy on the way home!

Good to see Alan T and Owen McC out again. Close racing today with just about a minute between four boats over a 40 minute course.

New club officers were elected in the 2016 AGM (March meeting) of LFYC committee. They are as follows:

Light wind action tonight so just one race was held. Richard Gallagher sailed a club PICO and accounted for himself well.

Race 1 was stopped mid way due to a tanker going out. Positions were agreed as stood at that time. There was a gap between boats 1,2,3 and boats 4,5 perhaps the wind dropped delaying the the two single hand boats.
