Web TV format for short shows

It looks like the internet is providing a new TV show format. 3 minute episodes seem like the way many people are going. These can be sent via web and mobile. Now big companies like FOX are begining to make these shows. This sort of show format has been popular in Japan for some time. Of course it can be topped and tailed with adverts. To view it you simply browse…kinda like youtube. Watching one episode after another untill you are fed up. Its a more interactive sort of flicking I suppose. It seems to me there is a great opportunity in the Foyle Arts to enter into this world. I guess the first step is to get a script. On that point, the rise of this format increases the sense of death of regular TV. Is three minutes how long average internet attention span is? I would suggest that is the upper limit.
