Lough Foyle Yacht Club

Visitors will have the opportunity to sail with experienced sailors, visit the club and enjoy Culmore from the water.

Come and visit our club, have a look around the dinghies. Go for a sail around Culmore Bay in the capable hands of our experienced sailors and maybe even skipper the boat!! Each session will last 1 hour and you will be taught the basics of sailing or if you want just sit back, relax and enjoy the view.

On arrival you will be introduced to your skipper for the day. You will be shown the dinghy to familiarize you with it, given a safety briefing then it will be time to get in the dinghy and set sail. You will be given the opportunity to help sail the dinghy and ask the skipper questions.

Experience the fun of sailing with a “Taste of Sailing” at Lough Foyle Yacht Club on the banks of the Foyle at Culmore Point.

The taster sessions start on the First Friday of May from 7pm until 9pm and continue every Friday right through until September, tide and weather permitting. The cost is £10 per session or £20 for 3 sessions payable at the event. If you decide to become a member of the club these sessions are free.

Races start on time: The time of the race start indicated is the time of the five minute gun. It is up to sailors and crew to be on the water and in the proximity of start line. The OD will (probably) not wait!
